Delft blue stacking vase

Design: Piet Design

The stacking vase is a stylized version of a typical Delft blue vase with lid.

All the world famous Delft Blue pottery has its origins in Chinese export porcelain that came on the market in the Netherlands in the early 17th century. The Dutch became fascinated by the blue/white color scheme and the excellent quality of this new type of ceramic. The product was so popular that it was soon imitated in the Netherlands under the name ‘Hollants porceleyn’.
Such jars with lids were made in different sizes and were usually only for decoration. The smaller ones were displayed on cupboards or mantelpieces, the larger ones were used in summer to brighten up the bare hearth.

The Piet Design stacking vase is a nice alternative to the regular stacking rings that children from 3 years old like to play with.

Height: about 18 cm.
