Dutch Landscape

Design: Piet Design

In Holland, long, narrow meadows were laid out in the flat, wet land as early as the Middle Ages. The straight ditches between them, together with windmills, provided the necessary drainage. This way of cultivating is unique in the world and became the basis for today’s geometric Dutch landscape: long strips of green grass with black and white cows, or colorful bulb fields in strict patterns, with farms, mills and pollard willows on the horizon.

Create your own Dutch landscape with this wooden set: place cows in the meadow with ditches and pollard willows or create a colorful bulb field for a typical Dutch horizon.

Contents:

7 meadows/bulb fields, 6 cows, 3 pollard willows, 1 farmhouse, 1 mill and 1 church.
